True Love Cafe

The True Love Cafe is a cafe in downtown Sacramento on 23rd and K. The place serves as the social nexus for Arthur, Annie, and Christen, as well as an after-work hangout for Arthur.

Arthur was first introduced to the cafe by Andrew Taggart, who also owned a t-shirt with True Love's logo on it. They visited the old J Street location when Arthur and Taggart were dating. Adrian also loved the place.

The cafe was shut down when the owner of the J Street building wanted to raise the rent too high. It recently reopened in its new location on K and 23rd across from the Dessert Diner in late 2006/early 2007.

Arthur and Christen went through a phase during the 2007 semester where they would go to True Love almost every night, trying to study and/or find hot guys. Ultimately, they failed in their efforts.

However, they did meet Annie there, through Nick, and have developed some sort of a repertoire with the baristas.

The cafe has a front patio where bands sometimes play during the weekends, an inside area hung with art where the open mic nights, concerts, and comedy shows are performed, the area where drinks and food can be bought, and a heated patio in the back where smoking is permitted.
